Austin is learning about Forces & Motion. His final project for school was to make a Disney ride. He had to learn about what types of motion it employed, etc. It was all he had to work on the entire month of June, yet somehow we still ended up doing it all last minute, of course.
Scott put the Kinex set together w/Austin...it took a long time 3-4 hours! and then Mommy did the rest, of course ;-)

I wanted to do a small shoe box, with holes poked through so all you could see were the flashing lights and hear the theme song, but I was informed that this violated the project's main theme: Motion (umm ...flashing lights don't display motion?). It had to have a working part...

You can barely see all the holes Savannah & I diligently poked through the sides ...

Thank heavens for Target and their sale of Kinex amusement park sets! Bless you Tar-jay!

In the little black box is the flashing lights & MP3 player ...
It's really hard to see, but the video shows the flashinglights and effects if you look really closely :-)
